Bypass road construction and dam building in Osh region: Kyrgyzstan’s Cabinet Chairman oversees progress

Bishkek – On a working trip to the Osh region, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Akylbek Japarov, inspected the ongoing construction of a bypass road around Uzgen. The project, which is being implemented as part of a public-private partnership, aims to alleviate the heavy traffic on the Bishkek-Osh highway, reduce traffic congestion, and improve road safety.

With a length of 14 kilometers, the bypass road includes the construction of several bridges and pedestrian underpasses, with the scheduled completion by the end of the year.

Additionally, Akylbek Japarov also oversaw the construction of a dam on the Kara-Darya river in Uzgen district. The projected cost of the dam is 731 million soms, and once completed, it will stretch over 4,551 meters. The construction is expected to be finished by March.

The projects are part of the government’s efforts to improve infrastructure and transportation in the region, contributing to the overall development and welfare of the area.
