In a significant move to safeguard the biodiversity of Issyk-Kul Lake, employees from the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision have uncovered 15 illegal fishing nets, encompassing an area of 1,500 square meters. The discovery, made by the ministry’s press service, underscores a concerted effort against poaching activities in the region.
The operation spanned from the village of Grigorievka to Ananyevo, focusing on areas known for illicit fishing practices. The primary aim of these efforts is to protect the delicate ecosystem and fish populations within Issyk-Kul Lake, a vital natural resource.
Authorities have stated that the Environmental and Technical Supervision Service will persist with these raids, pledging to intensify their initiatives aimed at environmental protection. This ongoing commitment highlights the ministry’s focus on maintaining the balance of the ecosystem and ensuring sustainable practices in fishing.
The regional efforts reflect an increasing awareness of the need to deter illegal fishing and conserve the lake’s natural resources for future generations.
