Deadly Heavy Rains Devastate Northwestern Pakistan: 17 Dead, 23 Injured
Heavy rains in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province have caused significant damage, with the death toll rising to 17, including 5 children. According to the Pakistan Regional Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), 116 houses have been damaged and some roads are impassable due to the heavy rainfall.
In addition to the human casualties, 23 people have been reported injured and 148 cattle have perished as a result of the severe weather conditions. Emergency aid teams are on the ground providing assistance to those affected, while repair work has begun on the damaged infrastructure.
Local governments have been instructed to expedite financial support to those impacted by the rains. The situation remains challenging, with ongoing efforts to address the aftermath of the disaster and provide relief to the affected communities.
