“Death Toll in Kherson Rises to 21 in Ukraine-Russia Conflict”

Russia’s attack on the Ukrainian city of Kherson has led to an increase in the loss of life. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski, 21 people were killed and 48 were injured in the attack. Zelenski stressed that all of the victims were civilians, and condemned Russia for the brutality of its actions.
Zelenski stated that various locations across the city of Kherson bore the “bloody trace” of Russia’s bullets, including a train station, an intersection, a house, a hardware store, a grocery store, and a gas station. He called for the world to witness the tragedy, describing the attack as an act of slaughter against innocent civilians.
A 58-hour curfew has been declared in Kherson, with the city closed to both entrance and exit. However, people living in the region are permitted to visit nearby shops to purchase necessities. Zelenski offered his condolences to the families of the victims, promising to hold all perpetrators accountable for their crimes.
It is worth noting that Russia had previously decided to withdraw its troops from the city of Kherson, which is the only regional capital it had annexed from Ukraine, in November last year. The recent attack has dashed hopes for peace in the region, and has led to renewed tensions between Ukraine and Russia.
