“Defense Industry President Demir reveals project plan for Malatya”
Head of Defense Industry, Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, has announced his plans to invest in the Malatya region of Turkey in an effort to bolster the local economy and aid earthquake victims. After visiting with Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Selahattin Gürkan and Malatya Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Oğuzhan Ata Sadıkoğlu, Demir stated that he sees the importance of employing permanent residents in the area to help it recover from the recent earthquake disaster.
As part of his investment plan, Demir has focused on the production of multi-layer printed circuits, which are crucial components of the electronics industry. He emphasized that Malatya, which has a strong presence in the form of the ASELSAN company, could become a leader in domestic production of these circuits. The first step in the investment plan is set to begin with an investment of over 1 billion TL, and will primarily employ workers from the local area and those affected by the earthquake.
Demir believes that the project will create a wider technology chain and contribute significantly to the national and local economy. He has also emphasized the importance of human resources and plans to utilize a training program for young people at the university level. This program will offer training that lasts eight modules and 350 hours, and students will be matched with professionals to receive hands-on experience in the industry. The focus will be on employing earthquake victims first, and the program will include over 300 students in the region.
Overall, the investment plan aims to provide a significant boost to the local economy while also aiding those affected by the earthquake. Demir believes that with the proper resources and training, Malatya could become a leader in the production of multi-layer printed circuits. He also expects that this investment will create a wider technology chain and contribute to the country’s development in both national and local terms.
