“DHA receives award from Trabzon Journalists Association”
The Trabzon Journalists Association held its annual ‘Successful Journalists of the Year 2022 Competition’ and the award ceremony was recently held at the Hamamizade İhsan Bey Cultural Center. The event was well attended by various dignitaries including Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu, Trabzon Governor İsmail Ustaoğlu, Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Murat Zorluoğlu, Trabzonspor Club President Ertuğrul Doğan, AK Party and CHP parliamentary candidates, journalists and their families.
The competition featured 37 works that were evaluated by a jury. The ‘News Photograph’ category saw DHA Correspondent Selçuk Başar win the award for the photo he took during the news about a coffee table made from construction material that was used during the funeral ceremony in Maçka district of Trabzon. The photo featured the coffin of a famous Black Sea music artist, Sait Uçar, who had recently passed away due to cancer.
Başar, who has now completed 20 years of service in the profession, also received the ‘Service Award’ at the event. The award was presented to him by CHP Trabzon Provincial Chairman Nurcan Aşcı Demiröz and his colleague İpek Cansel Kıyak Şahin.
Overall, the event was a great success and allowed the Trabzon Journalists Association to honor the hard work and dedication of journalists in the region.
