Discussing Strategic Steps for Developing the CASCA+ Transport Corridor in Tashkent
Representatives from various railway departments of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan gathered in Tashkent on May 28-29 for a meeting focused on the development of the CASCA+ corridor.
The conference, which also saw the participation of representatives from prominent exporting enterprises such as Uzkimoimpex, Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant, UzAvtoSanoat JSC, and Tashkent Pipe Plant, aimed to explore and discuss projects for the enhancement of the corridor.
One of the key proposals put forward during the meeting was to optimize logistics for perishable items such as fruits and vegetables by utilizing refrigerated containers. Additionally, there were discussions on the creation of an online monitoring system to track the movement of wagons and containers along the corridor. Participants also highlighted the importance of enhancing the corridor website to boost its effectiveness.
The gathering in Tashkent showcased a collaborative effort among these countries to improve transportation and trade infrastructure in the region. With a focus on innovation and modernization, the participants worked towards ensuring smoother operations and increased efficiency within the CASCA+ corridor.
As discussions continue and plans are set in motion, it is evident that the commitment to fostering economic growth and connectivity through railway development remains a top priority for the participating nations.
