Turkmenistan to Upgrade Turkmenbashy Railway Station
In Turkmenistan, efforts to strengthen the material and technical base of the railway industry are set to continue with the modernization of the infrastructure at the Turkmenbashy city railway station in the Balkan velayat. One of the planned upgrades includes the improvement of the railcar cleaning facility.
During a recent meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers, M. Chakyev, presented a proposal for the upgrade to the Head of State. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of efficiently utilizing the country’s modern railway infrastructure and called for the organization of railway station operations in line with current requirements.
Following the approval of the proposal, the Head of State instructed the agency’s leadership to take the necessary steps for its implementation. This move highlights Turkmenistan’s commitment to enhancing its railway facilities to meet the growing demands of the industry.
The upgrade of the Turkmenbashy railway station is expected to bring about improvements in services and operations, ultimately benefiting both passengers and the overall transportation sector in Turkmenistan.
