Discussing the Expansion of North-South Commodity Flows at CIS Transport Business Dialogue

The second meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States Transport Business Dialogue took place in Moscow, as reported on the website of the CIS Executive Committee.

Organized by the CIS Business Center for Economic Development Association, the International Coordinating Council for Trans–Eurasian Transportation, and the Executive Committee of the Coordinating Transport Meeting of the Commonwealth Member States, the discussions at the meeting focused on the implementation of innovative solutions in the transport, logistics, and customs sectors. Additionally, the participants explored the development of the North-South MTC, the expansion of commodity flows along this route, and the removal of barriers to movement.

The meeting also addressed the prospects for improving the infrastructure of waterways, railways, and highways. Deputy Secretary General of the CIS Ilkhom Nematov emphasized that cooperation in the transport sector remains crucial for economic development and deepening integration processes in the Commonwealth.

It is worth noting that at the 100th meeting of the CIS Economic Council, an Action Plan for optimizing infrastructure and developing international transport corridors passing through the territories of the CIS member states was adopted for the period up to 2030.

Overall, the meeting provided a platform for meaningful discussions and collaboration in enhancing transportation and logistics within the Commonwealth of Independent States.
