Distribution of the Holy Quran in 15 Dutch Cities: A Guide to Understanding Islam
The “Why Islam” unit in the Netherlands recently organized an event called “Invitation to Islam” in 15 cities, where the Holy Quran with Dutch translation was distributed to non-Muslim Dutch people. The event took place during King’s Day celebrations in city centers, where volunteers from the Muslim Perspective Foundation explained Islam and handed out brochures about the religion.
Bekir Ekinci, Head of the “Why Islam” Unit in Rotterdam, stated that their goal is to introduce non-Muslims to Islam and help them understand the teachings of the Quran. During the event, Ekinci mentioned that at least 5 people embraced Islam as a result of their efforts.
The interest in Islam has been growing in the Netherlands in recent years, with many people expressing a desire to read the Quran. The outreach efforts of the “Why Islam” unit have been successful in sparking curiosity and encouraging individuals to learn more about the religion.
Participants at the event, such as Tara Mercera and Silke Hofman, shared their positive experiences and intentions to read the Quran for the first time. Aty Blaauboer expressed her excitement to discover the teachings of the Quran and pass on its beauty to future generations.
In addition to the religious activities, King’s Day was celebrated with enthusiasm throughout the country. King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima participated in various events, and people dressed in orange enjoyed traditional games and food.
