Dublin and Ramallah Form Sister City Relationship
Dublin and Ramallah Declared “Sister Cities”
In a recent news article published by the Irish Times, it was announced that the cities of Dublin and Ramallah have officially become “sister cities” following the signing of a “friendship agreement” between Dublin Mayor Daithi de Roiste and Ramallah Mayor Issa Kassis.
Located in the center of the West Bank, Ramallah now stands as Dublin’s 5th sister city, joining San Jose, Liverpool, Barcelona, and Beijing. The Dublin Municipality has expressed its support for the establishment of this friendship agreement, and the Irish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also pledged its support.
In a further show of solidarity, the Dublin City Council unanimously voted to raise the Palestinian flag in support of the people of Gaza on December 5th. This motion demonstrates Dublin’s commitment to standing with the Palestinian people in times of struggle and hardship.
