Egypt Delivers Air Aid to North Gaza
The Egyptian Army has taken action to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, where Israel’s attacks have caused a major food crisis. According to Egyptian Army Spokesperson Garib Abdulhafez, an international coalition has been formed to drop aid to the north of Gaza on a daily basis. Military planes from Egypt and other coalition countries have been dropping aid to Gaza, in addition to aid being delivered through the Rafah Border Gate.
Morocco also announced that it has dropped air aid to Gaza for the first time, in coordination with the Israeli government. This collaborative effort comes as Israel continues its attacks on Gaza, pushing 2.3 million Palestinians into starvation. The United Nations had warned that 2.2 million people in Gaza were at risk of famine, with hundreds of thousands facing severe hunger levels according to the Integrated Food Security Stage Classification scale.
In response to the food crisis, Palestinians in Gaza, particularly in the north, have resorted to grinding animal feed due to the scarcity of flour. Tragically, the number of deaths from famine and malnutrition in Gaza has risen to 27. The international community’s efforts to provide much-needed aid to Gaza are crucial in alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people in the region.
