The Embassy of Japan in Ashgabat Hosts Gala Reception in Celebration of Emperor’s Birthday
The Embassy of Japan in Ashgabat recently hosted a gala reception to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan. This event, held on February 23rd, is a significant occasion in Japan’s calendar, showcasing the unity of the nation and reverence for the imperial dynasty’s rich history.
Emperor Naruhito’s birthday is a major national holiday in Japan, where people gather at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo to pay their respects and offer congratulations to the Emperor and his family.
The reception in Ashgabat was filled with Japanese elegance and hospitality, with floral arrangements, traditional clothing showcases, and diplomatic guests from various sectors. Ambassador Sasaki Hiroshi highlighted the strong partnership between Japan and Turkmenistan, emphasizing the upcoming World Exhibition in Osaka and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s planned visit to Japan.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov conveyed greetings from President Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, celebrating the 33rd anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. He commended the economic cooperation between Japan and Turkmenistan, with joint projects totaling around 8 billion US dollars.
Attendees at the reception were treated to Japanese cultural performances, including a fan dance and musical showcase, as well as traditional Japanese cuisine. The event served as a platform to strengthen ties between Japan and Turkmenistan, promoting intercultural dialogue and partnership development.
