Empowering Future Entrepreneurs: Networking and Training for Innovation
The Startup Forum Promotes Innovative Entrepreneurship in Turkmenistan
On December 8, a startup forum was held in Ashgabat, the capital city of Turkmenistan, just before the country’s Neutrality Day. The event, part of the “Startup Ecosystem – 2023” program, was organized by the Union of Economists of Turkmenistan and the USAID project for the development of modern professional skills. This program, now in its fourth year, aims to encourage innovative entrepreneurship among youth and promote the development of the business acceleration services market in Turkmenistan.
More than 100 people from Ashgabat, Dashoguz, and Mary participated in the forum, including representatives from six leading training centers, recruitment agencies, and consulting firms. The event provided a platform for program participants to network, meet volunteer mentors, and gain new knowledge and skills for a successful transition to the acceleration stage of the “Startup-ecosystem.”
At the forum, master classes were held by local and international experts on topics such as current e-commerce trends, international experiences in creating startup ecosystems, and successful presentation of business projects. Participants at the forum emphasized the importance of the Startup Ecosystem program in developing innovative entrepreneurship in the country.
The program will continue in 2024 with an acceleration stage and the preparation of participants for the final competition of business projects. This initiative by the Union of Economists of Turkmenistan and the USAID project is instrumental in fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the country.
