Empowering Women Through the Lens: Kazakhstan’s Photo Exhibition Opens in Strasbourg
The headquarters of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, France, recently hosted a photo exhibition dedicated to women empowerment in Kazakhstan. The event, titled Unveiling Strength: A Visual Journey for Gender Empowerment in Kazakhstan, took place on March 14 and featured a collection of photographs showcasing influential women of the Great Steppe.
Organized by Kazakhstan’s Consulate General in Strasbourg, the Bolashak corporate foundation, and the L’Association QazElles community of Kazakh businesswomen in France, the exhibition aimed to highlight various aspects of gender empowerment in Kazakhstan, including diplomacy, science, economics, and human rights protection.
During the event, Kazakhstan’s Consul General Anel Bakytbekkyzy emphasized the essential role of women in modern society and the government’s commitment to promoting and protecting women’s rights. Bakytbekkyzy also discussed the reforms initiated by Kazakhstan’s leadership to enhance gender equality, including measures to increase women’s representation in decision-making processes and women’s participation in governance.
Marija Pejčinović Burić, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, praised President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s efforts to empower women and create equal opportunities for all. The exhibition also featured a presentation on the activities of the L’Association QazElles community, which focuses on strengthening ties between Kazakhstan and France.
Overall, the photo exhibition served as a platform to celebrate the achievements of women in Kazakhstan and promote gender empowerment initiatives in the country. With a focus on highlighting women’s contributions to various fields and advocating for their rights, the event showcased the progress and efforts towards achieving gender equality in Kazakhstan.
