Encounter with Young Translators in Ashgabat Orient
A Meeting on Translation Activities and Methods Held for Young People at “Diller Dünýäsi” Language Center
On March 29th, a meeting was organized at the “Diller Dünýäsi” language center in Ashgabat, focusing on translation activities and methods. This event was a collaborative effort between the “Young Entrepreneurs” center under the Ashgabat City Committee of the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, the information, consulting, and volunteer movement center of the Central Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly, and the educational consulting company “Nusga Consulting”.
The meeting attracted young people from Ashgabat, as well as students from higher and secondary vocational educational institutions who are studying and interested in translation. The attendees actively participated in the event, eager to learn more about the field of translation.
Various speakers, including Merdan Atayev, a member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, and Oguljennet Bashimova, head of the department of the “Ashgabat” TV channel, shared their professional experiences and insights with the audience. Topics such as simultaneous and consecutive interpreting, written translation, and translation in different sectors like tourism, healthcare, and engineering were discussed, providing valuable knowledge to the aspiring translators.
The young translators present at the meeting had the opportunity to seek advice from mentors and ask questions about their areas of interest. The event also served as a platform for the exchange of opinions among translation enthusiasts, fostering a collaborative environment for learning and growth in the field.
The regular organization of such meetings is crucial for the development of future professional translators, providing them with the necessary guidance and support to excel in their careers.
