End of Tax Exemptions for Disability Associations Next Year

Starting from next year, a significant change in value-added tax (VAT) exemptions for passenger transportation services provided by legal entities consisting solely of public associations of people with disabilities will take effect in Uzbekistan. This new move comes as a result of a decree signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on September 18, 2024, titled “On Amending and Supplementing, as well as Repealing Certain Presidential Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan That Provide Tax and Customs Benefits.”

In addition to this, starting January 1, 2025, the exemption from land tax for legal entities that have established new orchards, vineyards, and mulberry plantations on their lands will also be abolished. Instead, these entities will benefit from a 50% reduction in the tax rate for the respective land plots.

These changes signify a shift in tax policies in Uzbekistan and aim to create a more equitable system for all entities involved in the transportation and agriculture sectors. Stay tuned for more updates on how these changes will impact the economy and various industries in the country.
