Earth Day 2025: #ForOurPlanet Campaign Emphasizes Circular Economy
Earth Day, celebrated globally on April 22nd, is focusing on the theme "Our Planet’s Energy" this year. The emphasis is on the urgent need to transition to renewable energy sources (RES) for a sustainable future.
In line with this initiative, Earth Day has launched the third edition of the European Union’s #ForOurPlanet campaign. This global campaign aims to address climate change and natural crises worldwide.
For Earth Day 2025, #ForOurPlanet is dedicated to promoting the circular economy, in alignment with EU Green Week 2025. The campaign will highlight the importance of repair, reuse, recycling, and sharing in creating a more sustainable future.
The concept of the circular economy encourages preserving value within the economy, fostering creativity and entrepreneurship, and extending the lifespan of products. It encourages individuals to reconsider before discarding items, as small actions can lead to significant changes.
The annual #ForOurPlanet campaign was launched in 2022 to raise awareness and promote eco-friendly actions. This year, the campaign is collaborating with the European Training Foundation’s Green Skills Award 2025 to recognize local projects that contribute to the circular economy.
EU delegations worldwide are inviting participation in the #ForOurPlanet campaign to promote sustainable practices and protect our planet for future generations.
