European Summer Festival 2023 to be held at Yntymak-2 park.
Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy, Altynbek Maksutov, met with Marilyn Josefson, the Ambassador of the European Union (EU) delegation to Kyrgyzstan to discuss cultural cooperation between the EU and Kyrgyzstan. The meeting acknowledged that the EU and Kyrgyzstan have been partners since the country gained independence in 1991, and both parties discussed further potential areas of cooperation. The two officials discussed the upcoming second meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia and the President of the European Council, which will be held in the city of Cholpon-Ata on June 2, 2023. Josefson extended an invitation to Maksutov to join the European Summer Festival 2023, which will take place in Bishkek’s Yntymak-2 park on May 26-27, 2023. The festival will include a big open-air concert featuring local performers, organized with the assistance of the EU delegation to Kyrgyzstan. Additionally, the main audience of the festival will be young people. Josefson also expressed interest in holding further festivals in other cities of the country. Maksutov expressed his gratitude for the EU’s assistance to Kyrgyzstan during the COVID-19 pandemic. Both parties agreed to strengthen and develop cooperation.
