“Evren Çavdır Chess Memorial Tournament” Planned by BRTK
The 1st Evren Çavdır Chess Memorial Tournament is set to take place on March 3 in order to honor the memory of the Champion Angels. The event is being organized in collaboration with the Union of Chambers of Turkish Cypriot Engineers and Architects (KTMMOB) and Nicosia Chess Association.
The tournament aims to commemorate Evren Çavdır, Havva Çavdır, Elvin Çavdır, and the Champion Angels, who tragically lost their lives in the earthquake that struck Adıyaman on February 6, 2023. The Union of Chambers of Turkish Cypriot Engineers and Architects expressed their intention to ensure that the memory of the victims is kept alive and that the tragic event is not forgotten.
The tournament, which is open to individuals aged 9 and above, will be held at the Acapulco Resort Hotel. Both licensed and unlicensed chess players are welcome to participate in the competition.
