Exciting Discoveries Revealed at Pompeii Archaeological Park

Remains of three individuals who perished in the massive eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD have been found during the ongoing excavations in Pompeii, Italy. The skeletal remains, discovered by archaeologists, belonged to two women and a 3-4 year old child who sought refuge in an oven during the catastrophic event. Along with the remains, two frescoed walls displaying mythological scenes were also found. Pompeii, one of Italy’s most visited tourist sites, has numerous layers of lava, ash, and soil from the volcanic eruption. The Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, praised the excavation team and remarked that the discovery of the remains demonstrates how much more there is to uncover in Pompeii.
