Expansion of State Pharmacies in Bishkek: Two New Locations Opened

New State-Owned Pharmacies Open in Bishkek

Bishkek, November 6, 2023 – Two additional El Aman state-owned pharmacies have been inaugurated in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the Ministry of Health’s press center, these pharmacies will operate within Family Medicine Center No. 1 as well as the branch of Family Medicine Center No. 2 located in the Dzhal microdistrict.

The newly opened pharmacies will offer more than 800 types of medicines, including those listed as vital. Officials have assured that the prices of these medicines will be 10-15 percent lower compared to private pharmacies.

In an effort to provide accessible healthcare to the citizens, the Ministry of Health plans to open a total of 46 state pharmacies across all regions of the country.

Prior to this, the first state-owned pharmacies were already established in the cities of Bishkek and Osh.

With the addition of these new pharmacies, the availability of affordable medicines to the public is expected to improve significantly. This initiative by the Ministry of Health aims to enhance the accessibility of essential healthcare services to all citizens.
