UNICEF Representative Office Head Successfully Completes Mission in Uzbekistan
Minister of Foreign Affairs Acknowledges UNICEF Representative’s Contribution in Uzbekistan
On November 6, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, met with Munir Mammadzade, the head of the UNICEF Representative Office in Uzbekistan. Mammadzade is completing his mission to the republic, and the meeting aimed to express gratitude for his active work and immense support for reforms in Uzbekistan.
During the conversation, Minister Saidov expressed his appreciation to Munir Mammadzade and his team for their efforts in creating the best conditions for the people of Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlights the significant role played by the UNICEF Representative Office in supporting the ongoing reforms in the country.
Munir Mammadzade assumed the role of UNICEF Representative to Uzbekistan in August 2020, succeeding Sascha Graumann. With over three years of experience as the UNICEF Deputy Representative to Kyrgyzstan, Mammadzade has been actively involved in leading UNICEF programs and coordinating cross-sectoral collaboration. In his capacity as the chair of the Program Management Team, he has effectively facilitated cooperation within the UN System.
Prior to his assignment in Uzbekistan, Mammadzade has served in various UNICEF Country Offices, including those in Azerbaijan, Moldova, and Nepal, as well as the Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia. His extensive background in international development and collaboration has greatly contributed to the successful implementation of UNICEF’s mandate in the regions he has worked.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recognizes Munir Mammadzade’s dedication and professionalism throughout his mission in Uzbekistan.
