Exploring the Future: Predictions and Possibilities
Japan is gearing up for Expo 2025 Osaka, set to take place from April 13 to October 13, 2025 on Yumeshima Island. The event aims to welcome 28.2 million visitors under the theme of “Designing a Future Society for Our Lives.” Officially, the Expo seeks to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals and Japan’s national strategy of “Society 5.0” by utilizing digital technologies like artificial intelligence, robotics, and big data.
Discussions regarding the preparations for Expo 2025 took place during the International Meeting on January 15–16, 2025 in Himeji, Japan. Representatives from over 100 countries, including Turkmenistan, gathered to share their plans. The Secretary-General of the Japan Exhibition Association, Hiroyuki Ishige, and the Secretary-General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), Dimitri Kerkentzes, highlighted the significance of the Expo as a platform for global cooperation and innovation.
Work at the Expo site on Yumeshima is progressing well, with over 7 million advance tickets already sold. The organizers aim to engage the public further in understanding the themes and programs of the World Expo. With 158 countries, including Turkmenistan, participating in the Expo, a diverse range of pavilions and activities will be showcased.
The Expo promises to showcase cutting-edge technological solutions, including flying cars, robotics, and green technologies. Various themed exhibitions such as Smart Mobility Expo, Virtual Expo, Digital Expo, Art Expo, Green Expo, and Future Life Expo will allow visitors to envision the future of society. Events and Theme Weeks will be organized throughout the six-month duration to educate and engage visitors on global challenges and solutions.
