Exploring the Mysterious Canal in Kayseri: An 8-Kilometer Adventure
The mysterious 8-kilometer water canal in Kayseri has left authorities puzzled, as they still cannot determine who opened it. The canal, which is 3 meters deep and 7 meters wide, poses a threat to agriculture and livestock in the Sarımsaklı District of Kayseri’s Melikgazi district.
Mahmut Şahin, Chairman of the Consumers Union, has been closely monitoring the situation since the channel was first discovered. He expressed his frustration at the lack of information regarding the origin of the canal, stating that it defies reason and logic.
The canal divides the land into two parts, both of which belong to the pasture directorate. Despite extensive investigations, it is unclear who is responsible for opening the canal. Various institutions have denied ownership of the canal, leaving the local community concerned about the potential damage to their land and livelihoods.
According to Şahin, the canal threatens to disrupt livestock farming in the area, as animals will no longer have access to graze freely. This could lead to increased costs for farmers and ultimately result in the end of livestock farming in the region.
Authorities have been urged to take action to address the situation and prevent further damage to the land. It is essential that the responsible party be held accountable for their actions and that measures are taken to protect the interests of the local community and the nation as a whole.
