FAO Commends Kyrgyzstan for Advancements in Agriculture Sector
President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov Holds Meeting with FAO Director-General
In a recent meeting, President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan met with the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Qu Dongyu. The meeting, which took place in Bishkek, focused on key issues related to food security, climate change adaptation, and the sustainable development of the agricultural sector in Kyrgyzstan.
During the meeting, President Japarov highlighted the importance of the cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and FAO in addressing pressing challenges in agriculture and ecology within the country. He emphasized that thanks to FAO’s support, significant programs aimed at enhancing the agricultural sector, improving food security, and implementing innovative technologies such as green biotechnology and artificial intelligence have been successfully launched.
FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu commended the efforts of the Kyrgyz government, acknowledging the strategic significance of the country’s geographic location and its unique natural conditions for sustainable agricultural development. He also expressed satisfaction with the recent signing of an agreement to establish a FAO representative office in Kyrgyzstan, which is expected to further enhance collaboration between the two parties.
Both President Japarov and Director-General Qu Dongyu expressed optimism about the continued strengthening of relations between Kyrgyzstan and FAO. They believe that this partnership will contribute significantly to the long-term development of the country’s agro-industrial complex.
