Explosion in Chrome Mine Quarry in Turkey Leaves One Dead and One Injured
An explosion occurred in the chrome mine quarry situated in Kayaönü village in Elazig, Turkey, causing a dent in the mine on Monday morning. The incident saw two miners trapped under the rubble, with Remzi Tahtacı losing his life and the other worker being injured and taken to the hospital. Upon receiving the notice, AFAD, gendarmerie, and medical teams were immediately sent to the site. It was only through the joint efforts of the rescue teams that the workers were successfully rescued.
Following the incident, an investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the explosion. Until the investigation is completed, work has been halted in the mine for the safety of workers.
