The FBI Shares New Findings on Assassination Attempt Against Trump
The FBI has shared new information with the public as it continues to investigate the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. Kevin Rojek, the FBI’s lead investigator on the case, revealed that they have conducted extensive interviews with around 1,000 individuals in an effort to piece together the events leading up to the attack.
Rojek disclosed that the perpetrator, Thomas Matthew Crooks, had meticulously researched the campaign rally locations of both Trump and President Joe Biden before deciding to target Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. He viewed this particular event as an opportune moment to carry out the attack.
While the FBI has a theory on Crooks’ motive, they are withholding any official statements until further investigations are completed.
The assassination attempt took place during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, resulting in the death of one attendee and injuries to two others. The attacker, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was swiftly neutralized by the US Secret Service on site.
In the aftermath of the incident, US Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned from her position on July 23. Her successor, Acting Director Roland Rowe, appeared before a Senate committee on July 30 and admitted the lack of appropriate security measures in place at the rally location.
As the FBI delves deeper into the details surrounding the assassination attempt on Trump, the investigation continues to uncover critical information that sheds light on the events leading up to the tragic incident.
