First Gas Boilers Produced in Bishkek

Bishkek Launches Local Production of Gas Boilers for Sustainable Energy

Bishkek has officially commenced the production of its first gas boilers, a significant move toward sustainable energy solutions for the city. During a visit to the Bishkekteploenergo municipal enterprise on May 5, 2025, Deputy Mayor Taalaibek Baigaziev announced the completion of two gas boilers, each with a capacity of 5 megawatts.

City Hall reports that the production will expand to include a total of 11 gas boilers, with varying capacities of 1, 3, and 5 megawatts. This development marks a historic shift for Bishkek, as the city previously relied on imported boilers, primarily powered by coal.

Baigaziev highlighted the economic and environmental significance of this initiative. "In the past, we imported such boilers from abroad, but now we’ve begun producing them locally. This is an important step both economically and environmentally," he stated.

2025 is noted as a pivotal year for the enterprise, transitioning from coal-fired to gas-powered systems. The newly manufactured boilers are set to be installed in city boiler houses, aiming for operational readiness by the beginning of the 2025-2026 heating season.

This production initiative is part of a broader strategy to reduce air pollution within Bishkek, reflecting the city’s commitment to improving environmental conditions and enhancing the quality of life for its residents.
