First Lady Emine Erdoğan Continues Humanitarian Efforts to Help Gaza
First Lady Emine Erdoğan recently visited the Egyptian Red Crescent in Cairo where she met with Ms. Entissar Amer, the wife of the Egyptian President. During her visit, Mrs. Erdoğan was briefed about the Red Crescent’s activities and the aid that has been organized for Gaza.
Expressing appreciation for the efforts of Egyptian institutions and non-governmental organizations, Mrs. Erdoğan stated that more than 7 thousand tons of aid materials have been delivered to Gaza from Turkey in coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent. She also noted that many Turkish non-governmental organizations have been providing supplies in cooperation with Egyptian NGOs and the Egyptian Red Crescent through AFAD and the Turkish Red Crescent.
Mrs. Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey will continue its struggle to ensure that aid to Gaza continues uninterruptedly. She expressed gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the aid efforts in Gaza.
In a separate post, Mrs. Erdoğan also visited the Hayat Karima Foundation, which supports the development of rural and poor areas under the auspices of Ms. Entissar Amer. She learned about the foundation’s activities aimed at improving the living conditions of women, children, and orphans.
During her visit, Mrs. Erdoğan was pleased to learn that the Foundation had mobilized a large team of volunteers at the start of the war at the Rafah border gate between Egypt and Gaza, being the first organization to be present with humanitarian assistance.
Mrs. Erdoğan concluded her visit by congratulating all the volunteers and foundation officials who have worked tirelessly in coordination with the aid efforts.
