Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev Raises Flag in Karabakh
A historic day for Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev raised the Azerbaijani flag in the cities of Khankendi and Khojaly in the region of Karabakh. These symbolic acts mark the establishment of Azerbaijan’s sovereignty in the region.
President Aliyev took to his social media account to share images of the momentous occasion. In the photographs, he can be seen raising the Azerbaijani flag in front of the official buildings in Khankendi, which was formerly the “capital” of the occupying regime.

The anti-terrorist operation, launched by the Azerbaijani army on September 19, aimed to establish constitutional order in Karabakh. Illegal Armenian armed forces in the region surrendered their weapons after a 24-hour operation.
With the successful operation, Azerbaijan has fully established its sovereignty in the region. The Azerbaijani government has encouraged the Armenian population to stay in their homes and be a part of Azerbaijani society.
