
Forest Access Prohibited in Hatay Starting May 1: Latest News from Turkey

The Hatay Regional Directorate of Forestry has announced that entry to forest areas within the provincial border will be prohibited for the next 6 months. This decision was made in order to combat forest fires and protect the natural environment.
According to the official statement released on the Directorate’s website, the Forest Fire Fighting Commission met on April 25, 2024, to discuss this matter. In accordance with Article 74 of the Forest Law No. 6831 and Articles 9 and 66 of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442, it was decided that entry to forest areas within the borders of Hatay province will be prohibited starting from May 1st until November 30th.
