French Far-Right Relies on Anti-Immigration Sentiment in European Parliament Campaign
Recent news in the French national press has shed light on the upcoming elections in France, with RN Chairman Jordan Bardella making strong statements at a rally unveiling his party’s election campaign. Bardella emphasized that the June 9 elections are essentially a referendum on immigration, calling on voters who are opposed to immigrants to support his party.
Speaking at the rally in Marseille, Bardella stated that the French people will have the power to decide who can enter the country, with the RN promising secure borders. He also addressed the ongoing farmer protests in France, criticizing the government’s response and showing support for the farming community.
The RN, under the slogan “France is returning, Europe is revitalizing”, is aiming to secure a majority of votes in the upcoming elections. Bardella, who was appointed chairman of the party with Marine Le Pen’s nomination for the 2022 Presidential elections, marks a historic moment as the first person outside the Le Pen family to hold this position.
A recent survey conducted by Portland Communications suggests that the far-right RN party could see significant success in the AP elections in June, potentially receiving 33 percent of the votes. With Bardella leading the charge, the RN is positioning itself as a strong contender in the political landscape of France.
