
Gaza Minister Fidan Addresses UNSC in Last Minute Development

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan gave a powerful speech at the Israeli-Palestinian session at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in New York, USA. He emphasized the need for international solidarity with the Palestinian people and drew attention to the urgent humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Fidan condemned Israel’s attacks on Gaza and called on all civilized countries to distance themselves from these war crimes. He criticized the UNSC for failing to fulfill its responsibility to maintain international peace and security and urged for strong global institutions to enforce international law.
The Foreign Minister highlighted the need for a guarantee mechanism to secure a two-state peace process that provides security guarantees for both Palestine and Israel. He stressed the importance of finding a functional state for the Palestinian people to resolve the ongoing conflict.
Fidan also shared a message on social media in support of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, reaffirming Turkey’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people in their rightful struggle against occupation and oppression.
Additionally, Fidan explained that Turkey was actively engaged in efforts to stop the war targeting Gaza civilians and participated in international meetings to address the Gaza issue.
In terms of his recent contacts and discussions, Fidan emphasized the urgency of declaring a ceasefire, delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza, and starting the process for permanent peace. He called on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities towards the Palestinian people.
