Gerald Ford, US’s Largest Aircraft Carrier, Joins Israel-Hamas Conflict on 5th Day

5th Day of Israel-Hamas Conflicts: US’s Largest Aircraft Carrier, Gerald Ford, in the Mediterranean
As the clashes between Israel and Hamas enter their fifth day, the death toll continues to rise on both sides. On the Israeli side, over 1,200 people have lost their lives, while the number of Palestinians killed in Israel’s response has reached 900. Shockingly, among the dead Palestinians, 260 were children and 200 were women.
The situation in Gaza has become even more dire as a complete blockade has been declared. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced that all restrictions have been lifted and a full attack has been launched, stating that they now have control of the Gaza Strip border. However, the United States Central Command revealed that the largest US aircraft carrier, the Gerald Ford, is advancing in the Mediterranean off the coast of Israel.
Minute by minute, the events of the conflict unfold. Israel struck multiple targets in Gaza in retaliation for Hamas’ attacks. The Israeli army announced that the first transport plane carrying “advanced American ammunition” had landed, following the United States’ promise to send new air defense systems and ammunition to support Israel in its fight against Hamas militants. The ammunition is said to have significant impact capabilities, and preparations are being made for additional scenarios.
In response to the escalating conflict, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that he will be traveling to Israel. He expressed unwavering support for Israel and stated that direct contacts will be held with Israeli partners to discuss the situation on the ground and how to continue supporting them in their fight against terrorist attacks. Meanwhile, violent incidents continue to occur in Silvan, occupied East Jerusalem, resulting in the death of two Palestinians.
Amidst the chaos, the Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that the number of Palestinians killed in Israel’s attacks has risen to 900, including 260 children and 200 women. The number of injured individuals has reached 4,500. Tragically, 22 Palestinian families, consisting of 150 people, have been completely massacred. Healthcare workers have also been targeted, with six killed and 15 injured.
On the Israeli side, the death toll from attacks launched by Hamas stands at over 1,200, with more than 200 Israelis estimated to have been captured by the militant group.
Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant expressed confidence in their control over the region and declared a full offensive against Hamas. He emphasized that Hamas will “regret it” and that Gaza will never be the same.
The conflict intensifies with each passing day, with thousands of rockets fired from Gaza towards Israel and armed groups seizing the Beit Hanun-Erez Border Gate. These groups have infiltrated settlements within Israel, prompting a strong response from the Israeli army, which has launched numerous attacks on the Gaza Strip using warplanes.
The escalation of violence has drawn attention from the international community, prompting increased support from the United States in the form of ammunition and interceptor assistance to strengthen Israel’s defense systems, particularly the Iron Dome.
The situation remains volatile and tense as the conflict escalates further. The world watches with concern, hoping for a resolution and an end to the devastating loss of life on both sides.
