Data from the spot market also shows that the cost of gold has surpassed $2,700 per ounce for the first time, with a 2.3 percent increase over the week. Analysts attribute this surge in price to the current tense geopolitical situation, which has led global investors to pour a record amount of funds into gold funds in just one week – totaling $1.2 billion.
Gold prices have remained above the $2,700 per ounce level, with spot market quotations hitting a new high of $2,720.15 per ounce on October 18. This uptrend in gold prices reflects the continued interest and demand for the precious metal as a safe haven investment during uncertain times.
