National Leader of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Visits Arkadag City to Inspect Construction Progress
On April 9, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, paid a visit to the city of Arkadag to oversee the ongoing construction of the second stage of buildings and structures.
During his inspection, Berdimuhamedov was briefed on the project for the “Ahalteke atlary” (Akhal-Teke horses) avenue, which will feature equestrian statues along the pathway. The Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of the City of Arkadag, Deryageldi Orazov, presented this project, which includes sculptural representations of the renowned Akhal-Teke horses – a source of national pride for the Turkmen people. Information about the breed’s history and origin will also be displayed alongside these statues.
Following the site visit, a working meeting was held with the participation of Deryageldi Orazov, Chairman of the State Committee for Construction of the city of Arkadag, and Gulshat Mammedova, the mayor of Arkadag city.
Orazov provided updates on the progress of construction within the second stage of the new city, highlighting the involvement of over 50 domestic companies and individual enterprises in project implementation. The construction of medical cluster facilities is being carried out by five companies, both domestic and foreign.
International financial institutions are increasingly interested in collaborating with Arkadag city, with efforts underway to secure grant funds for projects related to advanced technologies, water recycling systems, and renewable energy sources such as solar panels. Plans are also being considered for grants to support the construction of a modern bus station and a high-tech production complex as part of the city’s second-stage development.
In addition to production facilities, construction of social infrastructure is progressing, with a focus on harmonizing these structures with the natural landscape to maintain environmental standards in the city.
Berdimuhamedov issued directives to expedite construction and explore opportunities for exporting locally manufactured products to the global market.
The meeting also discussed preparations for the National Holiday of the Turkmen Horse, with plans to present keys to new residential buildings to horse breeders in celebration of the event.
Finally, Berdimuhamedov visited the construction site of a mosque, where he reviewed architectural plans and building materials. The mosque, designed to accommodate 30,000 believers, includes a dedicated space for 5,000 female worshippers.
Efforts are underway in Turkmenistan to uphold national traditions and observe sacred holidays, with special arrangements made for citizens wishing to perform the Hajj pilgrimage. The Mufti of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude for the state’s support in spiritual matters and highlighted ongoing efforts to facilitate pilgrimages to Mecca and Medina.
Overall, the visit to Arkadag city showcased the progress of construction projects and highlighted the government’s commitment to sustainable development and cultural preservation.
