Hezbollah Strikes Israeli Base with Over 60 Rockets in Response to Aruri Assassination
Dozens of Rockets Fired from Lebanon towards Israel, Israeli Army Responds
A recent attack on northern Israel has escalated tensions between Israel and Lebanon. According to reports, numerous rockets were launched from Lebanese territory towards Israel, prompting the Israeli army to respond by targeting the “group” responsible for the attack.
The Israeli army confirmed that sirens were sounded in the north of the country as approximately 40 rockets were fired from Lebanon towards the Meron region. Following the attack, the Israeli army took action to target the group responsible for launching the rockets.
Subsequent reports indicated that additional attacks were carried out in the north of Israel, with sirens being sounded in the region. However, further details about these incidents were not provided.
In a separate statement, Hezbollah announced that it had launched an attack on a military base belonging to the Israeli army on the border with 62 rockets in response to the assassination of Hamas’ Deputy Head of Political Bureau, Salih al-Aruri.
The statement from Hezbollah mentioned, “As the first reaction to the crime of assassinating the great leader Sheikh Salih al-Aruri, the Islamic resistance (Hezbollah) targeted the Meron air control base with 62 different types of missiles.”
The assassination of Aruri and six others in an Israeli drone attack in the “Dahiye” area of Beirut, a location considered to be a stronghold of Hezbollah, has further fueled tensions between the two sides. The Hezbollah Movement had previously warned that Israel’s assassination of Aruri would not go unanswered.
The recent events have once again heightened the already strained relationship between Israel and Hezbollah, with both sides exchanging attacks and threats, leading to growing concerns about the potential for further escalation of violence in the region.
