Hezbollah Condemns Attack on Hospital, Calls for a “Day of Anger” in Response
The Hezbollah Movement in Lebanon has strongly condemned the recent attack on the al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza by the Israeli army. Coinciding with US President Biden’s visit to Tel Aviv, Hezbollah has called for this day to be a “day of anger.”
In a written statement, Hezbollah expressed its grief over the “terrible and brutal crimes” committed by what they referred to as “Zionist criminal gangs.” The statement emphasized that mere condemnations were no longer sufficient, urging the people of the Islamic world and Arab countries to take immediate action and demonstrate their anger on the streets and squares.
Hezbollah specifically requested that Wednesday be designated as a “day of anger” to protest against Israel and President Joe Biden’s visit to the country. The statement also highlighted that the death toll resulting from Israel’s bombing of the al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza had risen to 500.
Islamic Jihad Refutes Israeli Claims
The Islamic Jihad Movement has denied Israeli allegations that they targeted the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, dismissing them as “unfounded.” In a separate written statement, the movement asserted that they do not utilize places of worship or public facilities, including hospitals, for military purposes such as weapon depots or rocket launches.
The statement from Islamic Jihad emphasized that Israeli officials’ claims regarding their involvement in the attack were baseless and unrealistic. It further pointed out that these threats had been consistently propagated by several Israeli officials in the media over the past few days.
The situation in Gaza remains tense as condemnations continue to pour in from various groups and nations around the world. The ongoing violence has sparked widespread concern and calls for immediate de-escalation to prevent further loss of innocent lives and destruction.
