Landslide in Jalal-Abad Region Puts Residents at Risk
A recent landslide in the Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan has put residents on high alert. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that a landslide occurred in Chkalov village of Arstanbap ayil aimak in the Bazar-Korgon district.
The landslide, which involved the movement of 7,000 cubic meters of earth mass, has placed one residential house in danger. Thankfully, the family living in the at-risk house has been relocated to a safe location.
In addition to the immediate threat posed by the landslide, cracks with lengths of 20-25 centimeters have been discovered near the site of the incident. This has raised concerns about further instability in the area.
It is reported that there are at least 98 families living in landslide-prone areas of the Bazar-Korgon district, with nine of them residing in the affected village. A task force is currently on the ground assessing the situation and working to mitigate the risks posed by the landslide.
Authorities are urging residents in the area to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety in the event of further landslides or natural disasters. The Ministry of Emergency Situations continues to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as the situation develops.
