Ağva is a coastal town located in the middle of Göksu and Yeşilçay creeks in the north of Istanbul. This neighborhood of Şile district is a popular destination for tourists, with a rich history dating back to Hittites, Phrygians, Romans, Byzantines, and Ottomans. Ağva received municipal status in 1991 and is known for its scenic views, beaches, and historical monuments.
