New Licensing System for Passenger Taxis Introduced in Kyrgyzstan
In efforts to enhance road safety, the President of Kyrgyzstan has signed amendments to the Law “On the Licensing and Permit System in the Kyrgyz Republic” to implement a licensing system for passenger taxis. This news was reported by the President’s press service.
The newly introduced amendments also include a restriction on the validity period of licenses for passenger transportation by road, which covers passenger taxis, as well as international freight transportation by road.
The law is set to be enforced six months after its official publication date, providing a grace period for stakeholders to adjust to the new licensing requirements.
This initiative aims to regulate the operation of passenger taxis and ensure that drivers and vehicles meet certain safety standards, ultimately contributing to improved road safety in Kyrgyzstan.
