Iranian President Calls for Immediate End to Israeli Attacks and Trial for Perpetrators
In response to Israel’s recent attack on Al-Ehli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has condemned the assault and called for swift action to halt the war machine of the Zionist regime. Speaking at a cabinet meeting, Raisi emphasized that mere condemnation is not enough and that those responsible for this horrific crime must be held accountable in order to ensure the sanctity of human life and uphold the principles of justice.
Raisi also called for the immediate lifting of the food and water embargo imposed by Israel, highlighting the urgent need to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. He urged the international community, particularly advocates of the rule of law, to fulfill their duty in addressing these violations of international laws and agreements.
The Iranian President stated, “The global consensus is that this regime has perpetrated heinous and terrible crimes against humanity. These crimes must be halted without delay, and those responsible, along with their supporters, must face justice.”
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has escalated in recent days, with Hamas’s armed wing launching a comprehensive attack on Israel known as the “Aqsa Flood.” Thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza towards Israel, and Palestinian armed groups seized control of the Beit Hanun-Erez Border Gate on the Gaza-Israel border. In response, the Israeli army launched airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, resulting in numerous casualties.
According to reports, 1,405 Israelis, including 304 soldiers, lost their lives, and 3,968 Israelis were injured in the attacks from Gaza. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that 3,000 people died and 12,500 were injured in Gaza as a result of Israel’s assaults. In the occupied West Bank, 62 Palestinians died, and approximately 1,250 people were injured due to attacks by Israeli forces and Jewish settlers. Tragically, 13 journalists also lost their lives in Israeli attacks.
Additionally, clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah on the Lebanese border led to the deaths of eight Hezbollah members, two Islamic Jihad members, one journalist, and two civilians. Lebanon’s counterattacks resulted in the deaths of two Israeli soldiers and one Israeli civilian.
Most recently, in Israel’s attack on Al-Ehli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, at least 500 Palestinians lost their lives.
The situation in the region remains dire, and international pressure continues to mount for both sides to cease hostilities and engage in meaningful dialogue to achieve a lasting and just resolution. The call by President Raisi for an immediate end to Israeli attacks and the prosecution of those responsible reflects the growing global concern over the escalating conflict and the need for swift action to protect innocent lives and uphold international laws.
