Iraq included in list of countries exempt from visa requirements, according to Official Gazette

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has signed a Presidential Decree exempting citizens of the Republic of Iraq from visas for touristic travels and transit passages to Turkey. The exemption applies to Iraqi citizens under the age of 15 and over the age of 50 who hold an ordinary passport. These citizens will be allowed to stay in Turkey for a maximum period of 90 days within 180 days without needing a visa.

The decision, which will come into effect on September 1, is in accordance with Article 18 of Law No. 6458 on Foreigners and International Protection. This move aims to facilitate travel for Iraqi citizens and strengthen ties between Turkey and Iraq.

In other news, the Foreign Ministry of Turkey has strongly condemned Israel’s recent operation in the West Bank.
