Israeli Army’s Attack Results in Deaths of 5 Civilians Near Quds Hospital in Gaza
Israeli Forces Kill 5 Civilians, Including Children, Near Jerusalem Hospital in Gaza City
According to reports from the official Palestinian agency WAFA, Israeli forces have launched attacks around the Jerusalem Hospital belonging to the Palestinian Red Crescent in Gaza city using howitzer cannons. As a result of these attacks, 5 civilians, including children, have been killed and many others have been injured.
The escalation of violence in Gaza comes after Hamas’s armed wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, launched a comprehensive attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. The attack was carried out in response to what Hamas described as “continuous violations against the Palestinians and sacred values, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
In the aftermath of the October 7 attacks, Israel reported that 1,200 Israelis lost their lives and 5,132 others were injured. On the Palestinian side, since October 7, a total of 31,184 Palestinians have been killed, including at least 13,500 children and 9,000 women, with 72,889 people sustaining injuries.
There are still reports of thousands of individuals trapped under the rubble, and the civilian infrastructure in Gaza continues to be targeted, including hospitals and educational institutions where people seek shelter. The ongoing violence and loss of innocent lives in Gaza have further heightened tensions in the region, with calls for an immediate ceasefire and a return to peaceful negotiations.
