Israeli forces bomb Gaza cemetery housing hundreds of Palestinian mass graves
Israeli attacks in Gaza lead to more than 30,000 Palestinian deaths
In a tragic turn of events, more than 30,000 Palestinians, including many children and women, have lost their lives in Israel’s attacks on Gaza since October 7. The Israeli army’s relentless assault on the region has caused immense devastation and suffering for the Palestinian people.
The latest in a series of brutal attacks occurred today when Israeli warplanes targeted a cemetery in the Jibaliya Refugee Camp where hundreds of Palestinians killed in previous attacks were buried. Ahmed al-Kahlut, Chief of the Civil Defense Unit in the north of Gaza, reported that the air strike caused the bodies buried there to be unearthed, requiring the civil defense teams to work tirelessly to re-bury them.
With limited space in the cemeteries to accommodate the thousands of victims of the ongoing massacre, the people of Gaza are being forced to bury their loved ones in mass graves. This heartbreaking reality underscores the humanitarian crisis that has been unfolding in Gaza for months, with innocent lives being lost and families torn apart.
The international community must take immediate action to put an end to the violence and bloodshed in Gaza, and to hold those responsible for these atrocities accountable. The Palestinian people deserve peace, justice, and the right to live in safety and dignity.
