Israeli forces kill 35 Palestinians in Rafah in 24 hours

In the past 24 hours, the Israeli army launched attacks on the city of Rafah, resulting in the tragic loss of 35 lives and leaving 129 people injured. The Kuwait Hospital in Rafah received the bodies of those who lost their lives in the attacks, with many of the victims being children and women whose bodies were dismembered in the brutal assaults on civilian houses.

Israeli warplanes and artillery units targeted various regions in the east of Rafah city, hitting empty lands, civilian houses, and even the municipality building. These attacks have been ongoing since yesterday evening, causing widespread destruction and loss of innocent lives.

Amidst the chaos, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh approved ceasefire proposals put forward by both Qatar and Egypt in an effort to bring an end to the violence in the Gaza Strip. Despite this, the Israeli War Cabinet decided to continue attacking Rafah, further escalating the situation.

The Israeli army also demanded the evacuation of certain neighborhoods in the east of Rafah, where displaced Palestinians had sought refuge. They claimed to have seized control of the Gaza side of the border gate with Egypt through a land attack on the Rafah region.

Since October 7, Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip have resulted in the deaths of 34,789 Palestinians, including over 14,000 children and nearly 10,000 women. An additional 78,204 individuals have been injured in the relentless assaults, with many still trapped under the rubble.

The civilian infrastructure, including hospitals and educational institutions providing shelter to the displaced, is also being targeted and destroyed in the ongoing conflict. The situation remains dire as both sides continue to suffer heavy casualties and untold devastation. The international community must intervene to bring about a peaceful resolution to this devastating crisis.
