Israeli Leaflets Mocked by Palestinians for Calling for “Tolerance”

Israeli military drops leaflets calling for “tolerance and mercy” in Gaza during Ramadan
In a controversial move, the Israeli military dropped leaflets from planes into the skies of Gaza, calling for “tolerance and mercy” during the holy month of Ramadan. The leaflets contained expressions such as “Feed food and speak well. May your fast be accepted, your sins will be forgiven, have a delicious iftar.”
However, the gesture was met with ridicule and anger by Palestinians in Gaza. Some even used the leaflets to light fires in protest, viewing them as a disregard for their suffering and an insult to their community.
Sami al-Zeanin, a displaced resident from Beit Hanoun to Rafah in the Gaza Strip, criticized the Israeli army for ignoring the struggles of the people, particularly in the north, where there is a shortage of essential resources like water and food. He questioned why the army does not provide aid to those in need instead of distributing leaflets.
Young Palestinian, Said al-Sahir, condemned Israel for its actions, stating that the country acts as if it is above international laws and regulations. He called the leaflets “poisonous propaganda” and urged Israel to allow food aid to enter Gaza during Ramadan.
Overall, the dropping of the leaflets has only added fuel to the fire in an already tense and precarious situation in Gaza. The call for tolerance and mercy during Ramadan seems to have fallen on deaf ears as Palestinians continue to struggle under the harsh conditions imposed on them.
