Israeli Military Strikes Result in Power Outages in West Bank Communities
The Israeli army’s attacks on the city of Jenin have caused widespread destruction and power outages, according to eyewitness reports. The infrastructure has been severely damaged, leading to disruptions in the electricity grid in some neighborhoods and in the Jenin Refugee Camp.
The Electricity Distribution Company in the northern West Bank has strongly condemned the Israeli army’s assault on their building and vehicles in Jenin. In a written statement, the company expressed outrage at the ongoing destruction of vehicles and equipment during the military operation in the region.
Israel recently announced its “Summer Camps” operation, described as the most intense and comprehensive attacks on refugee camps in Jenin, Tulkerim, and Tubas since the Second Intifada in 2002. The Palestinian Ministry of Health has reported 39 Palestinian fatalities and 145 injuries since the start of these attacks on August 28, with the most casualties occurring in Jenin, Tubas, Tulkerim, and Hebron.
Since October 7, 2023, a total of 691 Palestinians have lost their lives in attacks carried out by Israeli soldiers and settlers who have encroached on Palestinian lands in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. The escalating violence has raised concerns about the humanitarian situation in the region and the need for international intervention to end the bloodshed.
