Israeli Missile Kills Reporter in Gaza: Breaking News
After Days of Anticipation, Israel and Hamas Reach Ceasefire Agreement
After lengthy negotiations, Israel and Hamas have finally reached a ceasefire agreement, bringing an end to the recent conflict that has engulfed the region.
Hamas’ political leader, Ismail Haniye, announced that they had conveyed their proposal to the Israeli side through Qatar. Additionally, Hamas official Izzat Rishk stated on Al Jazeera that Qatar would be the one to officially announce the agreement.
According to Israeli media, a ‘green light’ has been given for the ceasefire agreement, with reports indicating that the agreement includes the release of women and children hostages in exchange for a five-day ceasefire. In a significant move, Palestinian women and children held in Israeli prisons will also be released.
The negotiations, mediated by Qatar, have been ongoing for weeks, with the ceasefire agreement also involving the dispatch of aid trucks to Gaza and the transfer of the injured to other countries for treatment.
Despite the positive signs of progress, there has been no official statement yet from the war cabinet governing Israel.
However, there have been reports that the ceasefire agreement includes the release of 50 to 100 hostages from Israel and other countries, with 300 children and women in Israeli prisons set to be freed within the framework of the agreement.
Ahead of Hamas’ announcement, US President Joe Biden expressed optimism, stating that he believed an agreement to release some hostages in Gaza was close. The Washington Post also reported that the ceasefire agreement was very close, further underscoring the encouraging developments.
Many are now hopeful that the ceasefire agreement will pave the way for peace and stability in the region, bringing relief to the millions of civilians who have been affected by the recent conflict.
